"Elitar-202" aircraft is designed for instructional and training flights, patrolling, inspection, pleasure and tourist flights. Dual flight control allows to use it as a school aircraft.
As for its aerodynamic configuration Elitar-202 is a cantilever low-wing monoplane of conventional design, traditional horizontal tail plane, pulling propeller, tricycle non-retractable landing gear with steerable nose wheel and two-seat cockpit with side-by-side pilot seats arrangement. Cockpit canopy opens when turning it up backwards.
The aircraft design and instrumentation allow to climb up to 3000m and to carry out flights in daylight hours in normal weather conditions using unpaved and concrete runways.
Gasoline-powered four-stroke engine with four opposed cylinders and carburetor fuel injection Rotax 912 ULS is mounted in this aircraft. Peculiarity of this engine is that it has two carburetors of continuous discharging with horizontal diffuser of variable cross-section. Each carburetor supplies fuel-air mixture to one pair of cylinders. The engine is equipped with electric starter and breakerless electronic ignition system.
Airframe comprises fuselage with cockpit, wings and empennage. Airframe structure is made mainly of fiberglass plastic with carbon composite added to spar flanges of wing panels molded with epoxy binding agent using matrix-type vacuum treatment with heating. All attachment fittings are produced of high-resistance steel and duralumin. Skin panels of all parts of the aircraft in active-duty zones consist of three-layered glass fiber with plastic foam filler.
Fuselage is the main part of the aircraft. The wing, empennage and engine with propeller are attached to it. Cockpit, aircraft operating controls, engine controls, and most of the equipment and systems are mounted inside of fuselage. Fuselage of Elitar-202 has a semimonocoque structure.
The aircraft design and instrumentation allow to carry out flights in daylight hours according to visual flight rules (VFR). Elitar-202 can be operated in all climatic zones within the temperature range -35 to +35°C. The aircraft can be additionally equipped with ski landing gear.
